This creative journey is central to the unfolding of the story; the very act of fragmenting, layering, and reassembling these elements forms the core of ghostly echoes of the past and histories that linger, sometimes visible, sometimes fading, embodying the urge to remember and the compulsion to forget.
These narratives are deeply imbued with reflections on ancestral journeys of struggle, migration, and displacement. They speak to the profound human desire to belong while navigating invisibility and marginalization. They also articulate the immense, often unspoken, hope that ancestors carried for a better future, a hope that finds a lasting resonance within these narratives. This body of work evokes a sense of enduring presence, where elements emerge and recede, speaking profoundly to memory and the resilience of a spirit. The organic, haunting forms further resonate with the ancient olive tree, a symbol of fortitude, whose branches sway in the elements, yet its roots run deep into the soil.
